Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2000, XP or 2003 for your POP3 email
These screen shots were taken under Windows XP with Outlook 2003.
- Open Outlook
- From the "Tools" menu, choose "E-mail Accounts..."
- In the E-mail Accounts window click, select "Add a new e-mail account"
and click on
- Select "POP3" as your server type, then click
- Enter "Your Name" as either your name or your company's name.
- Type in the "E-mail Address" which we have allocated to you.
For example: info@yourdomainname.co.uk - Your incoming mail server (POP3) is "pop.webspacemedia.co.uk".
- Your outgoing mail server (SMTP) is "smtp.webspacemedia.co.uk".
Customers using a Wanadoo/Freeserve internet account MUST set their outgoing mail server to "smtp.freeserve.com". All other SMTP servers are blocked by this Internet Service Provider. - Your User Name is as allocated by us, and sually matches your full email address.
- Your Password is as supplied by us. (If you have forgotten either of these details, please phone us for help)
- Make sure the "Remember password" option is ticked ()
- Click on
- Select the
tab, and tick ()
the option "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication".
Customers using an AOL internet account must also do the following:Select the tab, and change the number next to "Outgoing server (SMTP)" from 25 to 587
The default port number 25 is filtered by AOL, and may cause your outgoing emails to be blocked!

to close the window.
You are now ready to send and receive email from your account.
